About Chris Lekander

Here’s a bit about me that I hope will bring you to know me a bit better.

My incentive to be a personal coach comes from my passion and love for people. The creativity and beauty of those I am privileged to know brings me the highest sense of appreciation in my life. No experience outside of relationships with people has brought me as much joy and exuberance. My family - my two beautiful sons, my extraordinary husband and generous and loving parents especially have given this to me.

On a more academic side, I am fascinated by human behavior in both individuals and group culture. I began my interest early in life with a number of opportunities to get to know other cultures. I continue to have a number of international family and friends. My international experiences and fascination with people drove me to study cultures at the University of Minnesota where I received a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology.

Another huge interest of mine is family dynamics, especially in the balance between family relationships and work/career pursuits. I like to understand these dynamics in order to discover and celebrate gender differences. In turn I find that understanding and appreciating the differences brings so much growth in relationships.

My business experience in the financial industry includes many years of computer application programming and design. In addition to programming, I’ve enjoyed experiences in business analysis, data analysis, project management, team building and leadership. I love to bring teams together, especially in the task of making the connection between logic and design in order to create solutions.

In a more general sense, I’m drawn to anything that creates new awareness, or enlightenment and I love to synthesize this kind of information in different ways. I also love to create clarity in the nature of business and life design challenges so that the solutions can come forth more easily. I’m an idea generator when I’m sparked. I love to come up with new ideas and especially enjoy watching those ideas extend in the group mind, the mind in connected relationship. I stand in appreciation of beauty and goodness and I am continually looking for the nature of truth in relation to the context in which it’s revealed.

My spirituality is woven in-between the lines of all you read here. Some special experiences in my story have created and continue to create those threads. As a child I was fortunate to have known and worshiped for a little while with missionaries. These people so impressed me in their selfless service to others that I gained early in life some understanding of the peace that comes in true service to others. Coupled with having been raised in an open environment where I was exposed to more than one religious story, I have a unique view in matters of religion. I treasure these experiences for the way that it has allowed me to welcome the views of others from a wide variety of religious perspectives.

Of special importance to me for spiritual inspiration and revelation are the “Urantia Book” and “A Course in Miracles.” More recently, I’ve been introduced to the work of Eckhart Tolle in his “Power of Now” and David Hawkins in “Power vs. Force.” All of these texts and others bring me growth and understanding and are so beautiful each in its own way.

These aspects of me I bring to my coaching practice. I am happy to have such golden opportunities to put my interests, knowledge and experience to use in service. And, those who I coach bring me more gratitude than I could imagine. I just adore coaching!
